This policy explains what personal information CCS Creative Carpentry Solutions collects, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and how you can access or correct it.
01What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer an enquiry and quote a job. If you use the quote form on this site, that is:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your suburb — so we know whether the job is in our area
- The service you need — carpentry, waterproofing, and so on
- Your message — whatever you choose to tell us about the job
If you phone, email or text us instead, we collect whatever you give us in that conversation. If we quote or carry out work for you, we also keep the job records that go with it — the site address, quotes, invoices, variations and job photos.
02What we do not collect
This website does not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel and no third-party advertising code on this site. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not track you across other websites.
We never ask for payment card details through this website.
03Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry
- To prepare and send you a quote
- To schedule and carry out work you engage us for
- To invoice you and keep the business records the law requires
- To meet our obligations under NSW home building and licensing rules
We do not send marketing emails or newsletters. We will not add you to a mailing list.
04Who else handles your information
Running a small business means using a few third-party services. Being straight with you about them:
- Netlify — hosts this website and processes the quote form. Form submissions pass through and are stored on Netlify's servers, which are located overseas, including in the United States.
- Zoho Mail — hosts our business email. Anything you email us is stored there.
- Google — we use Google Calendar to schedule work, so a job booking may include your name and the site address. This site also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when the page loads.
- Our accountant — invoices and financial records are shared with Cook & Cook Accountants for tax and BAS purposes.
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with anyone else unless you ask us to, it is needed to do the work you engaged us for, or we are required to by law.
05Subcontractors and suppliers
Some jobs need a licensed electrician, plumber or tiler. Where that happens we may pass on your name, phone number and the site address so they can arrange access with you directly. We pass on the minimum needed to get the job done.
06How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Records for jobs we have carried out — quotes, invoices, variations and job photos — are kept for at least seven years. That is not our preference; it is what Australian tax law and NSW building warranty periods require.
07Job photos
We photograph our work for our own records and sometimes to show on this website or our Google Business Profile. Those photos show the work, not you and not anything identifying your address. If you would rather no photo of your job appears anywhere public, tell us and we will not use it. You can ask us to take a photo down at any time.
08Keeping it secure
This site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Our email and business accounts are password protected with two-factor authentication where the provider offers it. Job records are stored in an access-controlled cloud account.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
09Getting at your information
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it
Email edward@ccscarpentry.com.au or phone 0448 722 059. There is no charge, and we will get back to you within 30 days.
10If you are not happy
Tell us first — most things are sorted with a phone call. If we cannot resolve it, you can take a privacy complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
As a small business, CCS Creative Carpentry Solutions is not automatically bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We have chosen to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles anyway, because it is how we would want ours handled.
11Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update it here and change the date at the top of the page. Substantial changes will not be applied retrospectively to information already collected.
